Out of District Student Transfers
TMISD will begin accepting student out-of-district transfer request for the beginning of each new school year begin on May 1st of every year. (if May 1 falls on a weekend applications will be accepted the following regular business day)
Transfers are considered on a case-by-case basis. Criterion for approval includes good grades, passing all sections of the most recent Assessment (TAKS, STAAR,EOC, other) or other recognized assessment test, good attendance and no disciplinary problems.
Applications for Grade Levels: K through 8 at the Administration Building beginning May 1st.
The number of transfer students for Grades K-5 is extremely limited. Transfer applications will be processed on a first come basis beginning May 1. Enrollment will be frozen when it reaches each grade levels pre-enrollment limit. All other students will continue to be accepted pending eligibility and available space. There will not be a tuition fee for any out of district students.
At High School Level:
Grades 9-12, Transfer Requests will be collected at the High School with Nelda Garibay. Please contact her at email@example.com or call her at 361-903-6785 for an appointment.
Completed applications will be reviewed by the Superintendent and corresponding Campus Principal for final disposition. Applicant will be contacted on the decision and at that time you may register your student at the appropriate campus; you will be required to take all documents required by the campus with you at the time of registration. Documents submitted with transfer application will not be sent to the campus.
