Career & Technical Student Organizations
Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) enhance student learning through contextual instruction, leadership and personal development, applied learning and real world application.
CTSOs work as an integral component of the classroom curriculum and instruction, building upon employability and career skills and concepts through the application and engagement of students in hands-on demonstrations and real life and/or work experiences through a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. CTSO’s help guide students in developing a career path, a program of study and provide opportunities in gaining the skills and abilities needed to be successful in those careers through CTSO activities, programs and competitive events. In addition, students have opportunities to hold leadership positions at the local, state, and national level and attend leadership development conferences to network with other students as well as business and industry partners.
Business Professionals of America (BPA)
Business Professionals of America is the leading CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields. BPA is a co-curricular organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering co-curricular exercises based on national standards.
DECA
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA’s programs and activities have constantly evolved as we use the latest technology and apply cutting edge educational research.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
Future Health Professionals (HOSA)
A powerful curricular program of student lead activities designed to develop future leaders for the health care system. HOSA participation provides opportunities for students to develop effective leadership qualities and skills; enhance communication skills; develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills; build self-esteem through individual and group achievement.
Future Farmers of American (FFA)
A dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success. Members are future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields.
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)
An honor society for outstanding career and technical students of workforce vocational education institutions in the United States. NTHS believes in CTE students, the heartbeat of today's workforce! NTHS celebrates the accomplishments of today’s career and technical education students, empowering them to know the value and impact of their career paths and trades.
Technology Student Association (TSA)
The Technology Student Association fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); members apply and integrate these concepts through co-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs. TSA aims to develop leadership, academic, and business management skills in the workplace among students and leaders within the community
VEX Robotics
VEX Robotics is educational robotics for everyone. VEX solutions span all levels of both formal and informal education with accessible, scalable, and affordable solutions. Beyond science and engineering principles, VEX encourages creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem solving among groups.
Welding Warriors
A student organization for individuals enrolled in welding classes. Students compete in welding contest around the state from January to April to showcase their skills and win prizes.
