Special Education and 504 Programs
At Tuloso-Midway ISD, we are dedicated to supporting the diverse needs of all students through Special Education and Section 504 Services. Our goal is to provide specially designed instruction, accommodations, and resources that ensure students have equal access to learning opportunities and are prepared for future success.
Special Education Services
Our Special Education Department provides specialized instruction and related services to students with disabilities who qualify under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). We focus on:
- Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are tailored to meet each student’s individual needs.
- Access to the General Education Curriculum with support and modifications as needed through specially designed instruction.
- Functional Academics & Life Skills Programs to develop independence and pre-vocational skills.
- Inclusive Learning Environments that promote meaningful participation with peers.
- Transition Services to prepare students for life after high school.
Section 504 Services
Students who may not qualify for Special Education's specially designed instruction but have a disability that substantially limits a major life activity may be eligible for Section 504 accommodations. Our 504 Program ensures students receive:
- Classroom and Testing Accommodations to support their learning needs.
- Equal Access to educational programs, activities, and facilities.
- Individualized 504 Plans are developed in collaboration with families and educators.
