The Tuloso-Midway ISD Education Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to support the educational programs for students and staff of the Tuloso-Midway Independent School District in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The foundation raises funds through grants and private donations and invests them in innovative educational programming, fine arts activities, and technology applications that cannot be supported through the normal operating budget. These funds are used to facilitate student achievement and skill development, recognize and encourage staff excellence, and expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
Our Mission
The Tuloso-Midway ISD Education Foundation will generate and distribute resources to the Tuloso-Midway Independent School District for programs and projects that enhance the quality of education and provide students with opportunities to become life-long learners and contributing citizens in our democratic society.
Our Goals
The Foundation will achieve its mission by directing resources toward the following goals:
- Encourage all students to work to their highest potential
- Support staff for innovative efforts
-
Recognize staff for exemplary teaching
-
Inspire parents and community to join with the school district in enriching education
-
Build community awareness for the Tuloso-Midway ISD Education Foundation
Foundation Impact on Learning
Can we cover the state-mandated objectives by sitting at our desks and reading a play or a novel? Yes, of course. But, thanks to the Foundation, we can surpass the state objectives and accomplish what cannot be mandated – passion.
TM students have unique opportunities to develop passion for the poetry of Shakespeare, the magic of chemistry, the miracle of algebra, and the wonder of history and heritage. From the music program at the Primary campus to the travel programs at the high school level, these are the experiences children remember; these are the experiences which will interest them and, in turn, help them to become interesting humans.
The Foundation’s effect can be measured in terms of dollars raised and equipment purchased. A less tangible but no less significant impact lies in the spirit of the Foundation’s mission, which will outlast all of the worthy things purchased with Foundation money. We all feel lucky to have a fearless organization like the Foundation behind us.
